Choosing between them

The short version

If you only read one thing on this page: a deep clean is a reset, a routine clean keeps it there, and a move-out clean is for when someone is about to inspect the place.

Is it just untidy?

If the house has been kept up and you simply don't have the time any more, start with routine cleaning. No need to pay for a deep clean first.

Has it been a while?

If it's been a year or two, a routine visit will be spent catching up rather than cleaning. One deep clean first, then routine, works out cheaper.

Is someone inspecting it?

Deposit, walk-through, listing photos, new tenants — that's a move-out clean, because it includes the cabinet interiors and walls the others don't.

What each service covers

Routine cleaning

Weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting, beds made. The same one to three cleaners each visit, so by the third time they know your home without being told.

Best for: households where cleaning keeps getting pushed to Sunday.

Deep cleaning

Everything a routine visit covers, plus the hood vent, inside the microwave, door frames, window sills, A/C vents, shower door tracks, and behind the furniture. Takes considerably longer.

Best for: first cleans, spring resets, after renovations.

Move-in & move-out

A deep clean plus the interiors — inside every cabinet, drawer, vanity and closet — plus walls throughout, window tracks and blinds. 68 points, built around what gets inspected.

Best for: deposits, walk-throughs, listings, landlords between tenants.
